I'm Irish - What is your superpower?

Ireland is approaching so fast! It's only three weeks until the term is over and then there is not much time left in Germany! I'm so excited to finally live in my new "home"!

And the last weeks rushed by so far! Everything is in a rush right now.

So my highlight was definitely my seminar on "Irish (Gaeilge) in its Cultural Context" seminar on the Schauinsland. I had a gorgeous weekend in the middle of the beautiful Schauinsland-landscape. I made friends with some fellow students who are interested in Irish and Ireland as well. But I must admit the best thing was to get to know our instructors! We had three Irish instructors and one German. All four of them are grat people!
The German instructor was Michael, he's from Bonn and loves Scotland and speaks and teaches Scottish Gaelic. He's great and he can sing gorgeously and I must admit Scottish Gaelic was hard to grasp. Gaelic and Irish are so similar that I always wanted to use Irish and it was always wrong :)
Deirdre was one of the Irish instructors. She taught Irish literature and Irish in everyday life. She lives in Dublin and speaks German fluently which was so funny as we sometimes switched back and forth between Irish, English and German in one conversation.
Peadar is a Northern Irish guy working for the EU in Luxembourg as a translator. He's a terrific guy. We sat together until 4 in the morning and had such a good time!
Malachy is another Northern Irish guy, he's teacher at the Magee College in Derry. He taught us Ulster Irish, which is so much different from the Conamarra dialect I'm learning. But as I will live in the very North of Ireland it was great to get in touch with the local Irish which is used up there:)
He actually offered me place in one of his courses at Magee. I'd really like to attend the course as I really want to be able to speak this awesome language, which I like more and more the more I deal with it. The course is very expensive and as I was just informed last night via email it is a two years course which means I can't even complete it and get a certificate as I will only stay in Ireland for one academic year. But I really want to do it. As Malachy informes me there are always some people from Letterkenny in this course who are roughly my age which means I would get in touch with more people who live there and not only my pupils and teacher colleagues.
So I don't know yet what I will do with the offer.
But I do know when I will be gone for Ireland! :) I'll leave Germany on septmeber 25th. I'm so happy! I know that I will start working on october 1st and that I'll have to stay in the school until four in the afternoon each day but friday as I won't have to work on fridays!
I really wish everything was already settled and it was beginning of september and I could simply enjoy the last three weeks in Germany and then finally start my year in Ireland!

Now I need to get back to my studies. But for those of you who don't know what Irish sounds like:
